What is wehle state park?

Wehle State Park is a 2,800-acre state park located in southwestern Alabama near the town of Midway. The park features a variety of natural habitats, including hardwood forests, longleaf pine forests, wetlands, and sandhills.

Visitors to the park can enjoy a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, hunting, bird watching, and camping. The park has several hiking trails, including the 1.5-mile Pine Needle Trail and the 7.5-mile Eagle Trail. Camping is available at the park's 10-site primitive campground.

One of the highlights of Wehle State Park is its wildlife. The park is home to a variety of animals, including white-tailed deer, bobcats, turkeys, and a variety of bird species. The park also has a visitors center that offers educational exhibits and programs about the park's wildlife and natural history.

Wehle State Park was established in 2005 thanks to a land donation by Dr. Robert G. Wehle, a prominent bird dog trainer and conservationist. The park is managed by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
